The Shri Ramanashramam located in Tiruvannamalai is the ashram of the Hindustan’s great saint, Sri Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi. Everyday many people from all over the world visit this Ashram and practice the teachings of this great Saint. It is located on the girivala route of the Hill and Shiva temple of Tiruvannamalai.
Ashram:
The ashram has built in facilities for the devotees to sit and meditate towards achieving the goal of self-realization. The Sri Ramanasrama also has a small temple with a Shiva Lingam at the end of the hall. There are two more rooms holding the statue of the great saint, the Shrine of the Mother with divine paintings.
Everyday and Annual events:
Though the Sri Ramanasramam doesn’t offer any dedicated courses for meditation, the followers conduct a special program every day in the morning from 6.45 A.M. to 7.15 P.M. During the program, the devotees offer milk to Sri Bhagavan, followed by puja at the Shrine of the Mother and the Sri Bhagavan Shrine. Every day around 4.30 p.m, a person from the ashram recites one of the books of the ashram at the entrance of the big hall. The ashram organizes special events on occasions like Bhagavan’s Jayanti, Pongal, Sri Chakra Puja, Kartikai Deepam and Navaratri.
